Foreign contractors can FULLY own construction firms in the Philippines.
But did you know that it wasn’t always like that?
With the Supreme Court’s landmark decision on the PCAB v. Manila Water case in 2020 and the passage of RA 11711 in 2022, foreign contractors could now own 100% of construction firms in the Philippines, except for projects related to national defense and certain government procurements.
What does this mean?
✅ More opportunities for foreign contractors to work on local projects
✅ Stronger collaborations between local and international firms
✅ Better infrastructure and job creation for the Philippine economy
RA 11711 also introduced simpler licensing, stricter penalties for unlicensed contractors, and clear guidelines for compliance.
The Philippine economy is stepping forward with this.
Let’s work together to build a stronger, globally competitive future 🧑🤝🧑
